Ms. Aguila has three years
experience teaching tennis for PAST. She
also teaches in the Portland Public Schools in the Star Base program, bringing
math and science technology to elementary and middle school students. |

Shawn Alford, Instructor |
|
|
|
Ms. Alford joined the PAST crew in 2006. She got her start in tennis twelve years ago working as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the USTA/PNW. Currently Ms. Alford teaches group and private tennis lessons for kids at different schools and centers. She is also the director of the popular World Team Tennis league in Portland. |

Andrew Blackburn, Instructor |

Andrew Blackburn played on the Benson High School varsity team for three years. He will be attending Oregon State University in the fall, majoring in chemistry. |

Bob Boozer, Instructor |

|
Mr. Boozer is a founding
board member of PAST. He has been an
instructor and mentor for nine years.
Bob is certified with the US National Tennis Association.

Sue Brown, Web Site Designer, Instructor |

|
Ms. Brown designed and
manages the PAST website. She is a
photographer and also instructs for our organization.

Joan Carneiro, Instructor |
|
|
Ms. Carneiro joined the PAST
staff in 2000. She is an avid tennis
player and retired registered nurse. |

Calvin Cheng, Instructor |
|
|
|
Mr. Cheng coaches the JV Benson High School students enrolled with PAST. He played men's varsity tennis at Benson for three years and currently attends University of Portland. Calvin also teaches for Portland Tennis Center. |

Ms. Delanty is a teacher for
Portland Public Schools in addition to her six years with PAST. Previously she instructed tennis for Portland
Parks & Recreation. |

Deborah Espesete, Instructor |
|
|
 Ms. Espesete has worked with PAST and Portland Public Parks for eight years. She is a reading and math specialist who leads our 'Serving Up Literacy' program at Peninsula Park. |

Laura Frick, Instructor |
|
|
Ms. Frick has eight years
experience teaching tennis. She worked
for Portland Parks & Recreation prior to joining PAST in 2000. Laura was ranked No. 3 in the Pacific Northwest as a junior player. |

Maureen Harwood, Instructor |
|
|
Ms. Harwood comes to PAST via
her native South Africa,
where she learned the game of tennis. Maureen has worked for PAST for three years. |

Deanne Larsell, Instructor |
|
|
|
Deanne Larsell teaches Health Studies at Benson High School and coaches the varsity girls' team. She is certified with the USPTA and is highly ranked in senior competition in the Pacific Northwest. |

Brittany Michaud, Instructor |

|
|
Brittney Michaud played varsity tennis at Benson High School. She is coaching the JV team and instructs summer classes as she pursues her studies at the Oregon School of Massage. |

Terri Neal, Instructor |
|
|
|
Ms. Neal has volunteered for many years in
Portland Public Schools, teaching art literature and reading. Terri also volunteered for the Girl Scouts
for seven years. She joined our staff in
2006.

Hong Nguyen, Instructor |

|
Hong Nguyen is a recent graduate of Benson High School, where she played on the varsity squad for two years. She will be attending Oregon State University in the fall, majoring in biochemistry. |

Ms. Puhl has worked in
Portland Public Schools as a volunteer with the SMART and SUN Schools programs. Debbie was an instructor at Portland Tennis
Center for four
years. She joined our staff in January
2006. |

André St. James, Instructor |
|
|
|
Mr. St. James is a certified professional with the Professional Tennis Registry and a staff professional with Portland Tennis Center. In addition to his outstanding career in tennis, Andre is an accomplished jazz musician, performing regularly in Portland clubs. |

Chinh Tran, Instructor |
|
|
|
Mr. Tran is an accomplished tennis player at Sunset Athletic Club who has three children who compete in junior and collegiate tennis. In his spare time he is bringing new children into the game through classes with PAST. |

Joann Truong, Instructor |

|
|
Joann Truong is a junior at Benson High School who plays on the varsity team. She works for PAST as a summer instructor. |

Gene Stainbrook, Instructor |
|
|
|
Mr. Stainbrook has 30 years
experience teaching tennis. Gene taught
tennis for Portland Parks & Recreation and is employed at the University Community Center.
